The Childlike Empress and Bastian, from The Neverending Story.

Another of my favorite books/movies. I was watching it the other day and I felt like drawing it.
This one of the final scenes, in which the Childlike Empress is showing Bastian all that's left of her "vast empire" (a grain of sand).
As usual, the drawings don't look anything like the movie characters, but what are you gonna do.

I'm not sure I like it, and I'm not sure why I'm not sure I like it. Lol!
Hmmm... I might go back and fix the light, it's too... thick.

Lol, if one grain of sand gives off that much light, you'd expect everyone living at the beach to be blind O_____O
But very nice, i think No. 3 is the best, it has Jack Black in it :P

Oh I don't remember the 3rd one, I remember the 2nd one but I hated it, especially because Noah Hathaway wasn't Atreyu anymore :(

Taste is always subjective, and everyone is entitled to their favorites. But I disagree about "The Neverending Story: Part 3." It was utter trash, and the goofiest of the lot, including Jack Black's -- performance. The first film in a series is usually the best, and the most earnest. Sequels, in their effort to top the previous entry, most often end up becoming parodies of the material.

But again, this is only my personal opinion.

Very nice job! Instantly, this illustration drew my attention, and triggered my memory of this film, this scene. Barret Oliver was wonderful, and Tami Stronach as The Childlike Empress was absolutely phenomenal.

Looking at this illustration, I can almost hear the musical strains of the catchy 80's theme song (by Limahl, and Giorgio Moroder) slowly starting to grow louder.

Fantasia can rise anew, from your dreams and wishes...

Your first wish is...?

If it makes you feel any better, I recognized the characters right away.
