Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: I always get so mad at Ron and Hermione for not calling Harry on all his crap!! This is from when they meet for the first time in the book and Harry totally explodes.

In the book Ron and Hermione just stutter and make excuses and Hermione cries a little. And all I can ever think about when I read it is "OMG SOMEONE KICK HIM IN THE NUTS AND BE DONE WITH IT!".

So here's what I would've like Ron and Hermione to do :D
And yeah, she's totally feeling his ass in the last panel LOL!! (And she won't let Ron chuck dungbombs at Kreacher, but Harry doesn't need to know that ^^)

I almost didn't upload this because it's not very well drawn and it's not as funny as it was in my head, but I spent an afternoon doing it so here it is ;)

Yeah, they have always shrinked under his temper. That's what's cool about Ginny. She doesn't put up with his crap. xD

Yeah but Harry has had to stay with a frankly abusive family for a month and he really does have more expectations piled on his shoulders than they do.

Hehe I do really like how this looks, and esp when they are walking away with their arms around each other!  So cute, especially since in the books, Harry always seems to be the one who unites them, and they don't really have "each other" without Harry til finally in the seventh book!  BUT I have to admit, one of the things I love most about how JKR wrote Harry is how relatable he is, issues and jealousies and unkind thoughts and all.  And in the fifth book, if I'd been Harry, ignored all summer, only to find out everyone else had been together at my godfather's house... well, even if it's not "right" I would've felt the same!  But I do love all your comics, the expressions are priceless!

It would be better if Harry didn't went a total dick on them. If he acknowledged how they were always together through thick and thin, and how lonely he felt when Dementors attacked him, that would show a lot of character.

Didn't he just go through a ton of trauma, like the first time seeing someone killed(other than lily) and then get sent to abusive relatives (maybe not physical), they could have asked the guards to pass him a letter letting him know that they hoped he as ok at least.

Wasn't it Ron's fault they had to fight a troll in the first place...? Ah well, Hermione still has a good point. (And Hermione, get your hand away from there, gross. Ick. Bleck. It's Ron, of all people.)

For the pawn thing I think the pieces in chess have shown they are never harmed and in fact wake up shortly afterwards. So no, he was not in danger.

Harry's quite angsty isn't he? He's lucky he's got such understanding, patient friends that put up with him. To be fair though, he puts up with Ron and Hermione's bickering, and Ron's short-temper all the time. Sometimes I wish they'd speak up though and put him in his place, that's what true friends do, even if it hurts. I think he knows that he'd be lost without Ron and Hermione, he just sometimes forgets it. I kind of wish there was more focus on his fears of possibly loosing them, like he'd suffer from nightmares about their deaths and such.

This is funny, but from reading the comments I feel that some people are too harsh on Harry's behaviour in the fifth book and forget there was a reason for it. To be fair- he was getting constant visions from Voldemort the whole time-and the book blatantly says Voldemort's emotions were bleeding into his own making them more and more alike as the book went on (e.g. Harry having urge to attack Dumbledore). Not to mention, It was pretty rough when Harry learns this is why Dumbledore would not look him in the eye and ignored him.  Plus, its not like Harry didn't know he was out of line, he did apologise, and these were just feelings he had because he was isolated at the Dursely's - and is pretty much kept in the dark about everything- his connection with Voldemort just amplified these intensely.

Harry had also just witnessed a very traumatic event; I think he was suffering from severe depression and PTSD at the end of the 4th and throughout the 5th book. I knew something was wrong with him when he didn't want to see Ron and Hermione at the end of the 4th book. He'd witnessed someone get murdered in front of him and Voldemort came back from the dead and tortured him, which very traumatizing. No one got him any help either (because the wizarding world apparently doesn't know what therapy or psychology is.) Having a psychopathic wizard connect to him just made things worse.

They're his best friends, and they didn't care enough to sidestep ONE ORDER from Dumbledore to even illuminate. I'd be pissed if my friends decided to tell me nothing just because a teacher's order meant more to them than leaving me in the dark, especially in a crisis. I don't really think that's TOO unreasonable

I agree. I think that everyone in the Order was treating Harry as a child keeping him in the dark with this scene and pretty the rest of the book. I think that Ron or Hermione  Harry knows should have wrote a letter that said at least that they were together (at the same location, not as a couple) and that everything would be explained when the three of them  saw each other.

Meh books would have been better whitout Hermione or Ron, Harry would have to actually learn instead of asking Hermione and making her miss explanation, Ron yeah well never cared much for his character. Hell at the seventh book Neville was a better hero than Harry "the things will fix themselves" Potter. Don't get me wrong until fifth book I actually liked the books and Harry was one of the better characters in all fiction.

For the image itself well Harry actually had a few reason for explode, very stresfull situation with the whole attack and nobody explaining anything and at that point he didn't know that Hermione and Ron didn't knew anything, the friends were close and if you haven't had friends explode at you when they are covered in problems, well I have been in both sides so I know to don't be mad and "kick them in the nuts"

THIS! I have a similar opinion about Harry's character. He grows into an annoying ignorant, considering that he was studying magic and all the wizard's world and stuff... (excuse my bad spelling, I actually speak spanish)

This is where I disagree with you, Harry was cooped up at the Dursleys nearly all summer, so it's reasonable for him to "explode", and they don't have the right to talk back, especially when both Ron Weasel and Hermione were hiding secrets from Him.
Reply
:iconiactuallyshitrainbow:
They weren't hiding secrets from him, they couldn't tell him anything and knew really very little. Though I agree with it being understandable for him to explode.

And if anyone was a dick, it was Dumbledore for ignoring Harry throughout the entire book.
Especially when Harry was being overtaken by the bit of Voldemort's soul (if you can call it that) that was living inside of Harry's forehead.
Reply
:iconiactuallyshitrainbow:
I don't think Dumbledore is a judge-able, there are too many factors to take into account that we will never know. I agree he was manipulative, and that, even though he was sincerely fond of Harry, he often treated him as a piece of a board game more than a human being (or quoting our dickhead-gone-hero, as a pig for slaughter.)
Dumbledore DID ignore harry, but he did it out of fear that connection Harry and what Voldemort could learn through it.

I disagree with you, Dumbledore obviously cares about Harry and not even once did He treat Harry like a chess pawn.
You've read too much Dumbledore bashing fics.
