I know it's not exactly "HA HA" funny, but everytime I read the Harry Potter books I can't help but think that they wouldn't need to spend so much time in the school library or investigating around if they had a nice laptop, an internet hook-up and access to a wizarding database lol! Then again, if they could solve all the mysteries by Googling them, the books would be boring as hell. Hence the comic
Other good moments I could've drawn (but was too lazy to): in GoF a way to pass the first and second tasks (especially the second, they went mad looking for that shit!), in HBP they could've Googled Eileen Prince's ass and discovered she was Snape's mom...
By the way, I DO know that electronics go hay-wire around magic, especially with the amount of it there is at Hogwarts. This is just a comic, it's not meant to be accurate

"you love me. real or not real?" "real." "may the odds be ever in your favor." "stay with me." "always." Katniss & Peeta: best couple ever. the hunger games pretty much sums up my life.
One other thing is that Ron and Hermione would have been able to keep in touch with Harry with email which might it more difficult for Dobby to convince Harry not to return to Hogwarts in Chamber of Secrets.

Evangeline found a way around that. Instead of using technology that runs on electricity or batteries, she uses technology that runs on raw magical power. So, they could still use computers.
But still, "it takes place in the 90s" is a good explanation. We did NOT have Google, Wikipedia, Twitter or cellphones back in the 90s, magical or otherwise. I know, I was there back then.
This is clearly shown in the new movie "American Reunion", where Stifler (who was a teenager in 1999) tries to enter a house by saying that they need to use a phone to call Triple A because their car broke down, and the owner of the house says, "Don't any of you have a cell phone?".
